Spartans Finish Fourth at Messiah Fall Classic

HARRISBURG, PA  - The York College golf squad finished tied for fourth at Thursday’s Messiah College Falcon Fall Golf Classic at Blue Ridge Country Club in Harrisburg, PA. The Spartans finished tied with Elizabethtown as the two squads recorded a team score of 327. Muhlenberg won the event with a team score of 314 followed by Gettysburg at 319 and Messiah at 322.

The Spartans were led by Adam Dupler (York Haven, Pa./Red Land) as the reigning CAC Player-of-the-Year shot a seven-over-par 79 to finish ninth in the 83 player field. Adam Burkhart (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) finished a stroke back of Dupler as he finished tied for tenth.

Sophomore Andrew Schmehl (Vincentown, N.J./Seneca) finished tied for 21st as he carded an 82 while senior Cody Trabert (York, Pa./Central York) was the final Spartan scorer as he placed tied for 41st with an 86.

The Spartans, who are now 42-4-1, return to action on Monday, Oct. 5 when they travel to Bent Creek Country Club to participate in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational. The tournament kicks off at 12:30 pm.
