GETTYSBURG, PA – The York College golf squad finished sixth at the 11 team Gettysburg Fall Invitational at the Links of Gettysburg on Tuesday afternoon in Gettysburg, PA. The Spartans finished with a team-score of 342. The Messiah Falcons won the event with a stellar team score of 300. That score won the tournament by a whopping 31 strokes as Albright finished second with total of 331.
The Spartans were paced by senior Cody Trabert (York, Pa./Central York) as he fired an 11-over-par 83, good for a 16th place finish. Sophomores Adam Dupler (York Haven, Pa./Red Land) and Andrew Schmehl (Vincentown, N.J./Seneca) each shot 85 to finish tied for 25th. Sophomore Adam Burkhart (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) was the fourth Spartan scorer as he traversed the course with an 89 putting him in a tie for 36th in the 59 man-field.
Tom Castello (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) was the final tournament participant for the Green and White as he shot 98.
The Spartans conclude the fall portion of
their with an overall record of 63-25-1 with a tournament
championship and one runner-up finish. The Spartans return to
action in mid-March.
