YORK, PA – The York College golf squad finished tied for second with Elizabethtown at the 2010 York College Spring Golf Invitational on Monday afternoon at the Out Door Country Club in York.
Messiah blistered the par 71 course, as they carded a team-total of 282 which was a cumulative two-under par effort. The Spartans finished with a team score of 308 as they tied the Blue Jays for second. Stevenson finished fourth at 317 while Lebanon Valley rounded out the top five with a score of 318.
The tandem of Cody Trabert (York, Pa./Central York) and Andrew Schmehl (Vincentown, N.J./Seneca) led the Spartans as they both shot a three-over par 74, tying them for sixth in the 50-player field.
Sophomore Adam Burkhart (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) was the third Spartan to shoot in the seventies as he carded an eight-over-par 79, as he tied for 16th in the tournament. Sophomore Adam Dupler (York Haven, Pa./Red Land) rounded out the Spartan scorers as shot an 81 which earned him a tie for 21st.
The Spartans are now 76-32-2 and they return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to the Dickinson College Invitational. The tournament begins at 12:00 pm.
