Becky Coleman Joins Spartan Athletic Communications Staff

Becky Coleman joins the Athletic Communications staff as an intern starting with the 2012-13 school year. Coleman comes to York from Slippery Rock University where she was a four-year letter-winner for the Rock field hockey squad.

Coleman, an Elma, NY native, was a public relations major at SRU and was a four-year NFHCA National Academic squad honoree while she also was a PSAC-Scholar Athlete honoree.

On the field, Coleman played in 66 career games with 44 starts for Slippery Rock. She scored eight goals and had four assists as she primarily played forward for The Rock.

“Becky brings a great enthusiasm to the Athletic Communications department and I am excited to have her on board,” stated Scott Guise, the Director of Athletic Communications. “Becky’s infectious attitude and work ethic will be a big asset to the office.”

Coleman replaces Brent Duffy who accepted a full-time position at Soccer Shots of York. Duffy served in the Athletic Communications office for the last five years.

Coleman is happy to get the opportunity to join the Spartan staff.

"I am extremely excited and looking forward to becoming part of the York College family," says Coleman.

She begins her duties in York on August 6.
