YORK, PA - York College senior field hockey forward Autumn Mallory has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. It's the second time this year that Mallory has been honored by the league.
Mallory had another huge week as the Spartans went 2-0 including opening CAC play with a victory.
Mallory started the week with a natural hat trick in the first half in York's 3-1 win at Johns Hopkins. She opened the scoring a mere 38 seconds into the game, giving York a very quick start. Mallory made it 2-0 in the 15th minute with a goal off a pass from Lindsay Nye. Mallory completed the hat trick with a goal off a Paige Taylor pass just under four minutes before halftime. She did her damage on just three shots in the victory.
Mallory opened the win over Wesley with the first goal of the game as she had scored four straight goals for the Spartans covering two games. She scored her goal on four shots.
For the week, Mallory had four goals on seven shots with two goals being game-winners for the Green and White.
For the season, Mallory leads the Spartans with 21 points on 10 goals and an assist. She has four game-winning goals for the Green and White. Mallory ranks first in the CAC in goals and total points.
