York College sophomore goalkeeper Alana Curtis was named the Capital Athletic Conference Field Hockey Defender of the Week for the week ending October 30. Curtis led the Spartans to a pair of shutouts wins as the Spartans advanced to the CAC Semifinals.
Curtis registered a pair of shutouts in conference play for the week. She notched two saves in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Hood, a win that closed out the regular season. Curtis then stepped up and recorded four huge saves in the 3-0 win over St. Mary's in the opening round of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament. The Spartans advance to face top-seeded Salisbury in the tournament's semifinal round.
Curtis owns a record of 8-6 with five shutouts, a 1.39 goals against average and a .654 save percentage.
