Dawkins Picks Up CAC Field Hockey Player-of-the-Week Accolades

YORK, PA - On the heels of a stellar week for York College field hockey, junior forward Katie Dawkins (Easton, Md./Easton) nabs Capital Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player-of-the-Week honors.

Dawkins tallied three times over York's trio of contests this week, as the Spartans posted a 3-0 mark. She notched two against Stevenson, including the game-winning score, while adding a goal and an assist against Frostburg last Saturday.

The junior has been nothing short of fantastic for the Green and White this season. Dawkins leads the team with eight goals this season while her 17 points is also tops on the squad. She has scored over one-third of York's 22 goals in 2009 as she has had a hand in nearly 41 percent of Spartan tallies.

Dawkins was also been chosen as the Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week. This marks the second consecutive week that a player has garnered both Spartan and CAC Player-of-the-Week honors. Men's soccer senior goalkeeper Ryan Hock (Brookeville, Md./Sherwood) secured the pair of accolades the previous week.
