McFarland Selected for All-South Region Squad

YORK, PA – York College field hockey
senior forward April McFarland (York, Pa./Eastern
York) has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches
Association All-South Region second-team for 2008. This is
McFarland’s second post-season accolade of 2008 as she was
recently selected to the All-Capital Athletic Conference
first-team.
McFarland put together a banner
season for her senior campaign. The captain tallied a career high
18 goals adding a pair of assists for 38 points. She leaves the
program as the school’s all-time leader in goals scored with
53 goals while she ranks second in career points with 115.
The selection to the all-region
squad marks the first time that McFarland has received such an
honor. She was also a three time All-CAC honoree, landing on the
All-CAC first team in 2008, the second-team in 2007, and was the
league’s Rookie-of-the-Year in 2005.
McFarland was one of seven CAC
field hockey players to receive all-region recognition.
