Christian Bilan opened the scoring as he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded for York's first run. Jack Barry hit into a fielder's choice that score York's second run, but a Salisbury error left the bases loaded as they failed to get the out at second. Another fielder's choice scored a run for York as the Spartans had batted around. Acierno scored the final run of the inning on a passed ball as York led 6-0 after one inning.

• Salisbury threatened in the top of the third as they loaded the bases with one out. Spartan starter Joel Kenney walked Jack Decker to score Salisbury's first run. Kenney got the next two hitters out to extricate himself from the uprising as York still held a 6-1 lead.

• Salisbury's Scott Adoin led off the top of the sixth with a line drive home run, cutting the York lead to 6-2. The Spartans answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning with the big blow being a two-run double to left center by Seth Brosius.
