YORK, PA – York College junior outfielder Seth Brosius was named to the 2017 ABCA/Rawlings Division III All-South region as the teams were announced on Wednesday morning.
Brosius is the first Spartan to earn all-region honors since 2014 when Colbe Herr, Brad Wenzel and Derek Pitzer were recognized by the ABCA. Herr earned All-American honors that season.
Brosius, who earned All-CAC honors earlier in the month, had an outstanding junior season. He finished the campaign hitting .341 with 31 runs scored, 16 doubles, six home runs, 39 RBI and four stolen bases. He recorded a slugging percentage of .541, an on-base percentage of .407 and a fielding percentage of .959.
The junior led the Spartans in doubles, home runs, RBI, and at-bats. He was second in hits, second in batting average and third in runs scored from his three-hole spot in the Spartan lineup.
Brosius finished the season ranked second in the CAC in doubles, fifth in base hits, eighth in RBI and 11th in home runs.
He finished the 2017 season red hot as he will carry an active nine game hitting streak into next season. He had at least one hit in 18 of his final 19 games of the season. He tied his career high with four hits in the May 3 game at Rutgers-Camden. Brosius has had at least one game with four hits in all three of his Spartan seasons. He also set a career high with seven RBI in the April 9 blowout of Mary Washington. He also hit a pair of majestic home runs in the win.
Brosius will lead a strong core of seven returning players who had over 100 at-bats during the year. York will also return nine pitchers who tossed at least 14 innings or more during 2016.
