YORK, PA - York College senior centerfielder Andrew Hershey (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Hershey powered the Spartans to a trio of CAC wins for the week as the senior centerfielder hit .500 for the Green and White. Hershey began the doubleheader with Salisbury with a bang as he lead off the bottom of the first with a home run. He finshed the game 2-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. In the nightcap against the Sea Gulls, Hershey was 2-for-4 with another home run and two runs scored and a walk. He concluded his weekend with a 1-for-2 performance with three runs scored and an RBI in the win over PSU Harrisburg.
Hershey finished the week hitting .500 (5-for-10) with eight runs scored, three RBI, two stolen bases, two walks and a hit by pitch from his lead off position in the Spartan lineup. He had a .667 on-base percentage and a 1.100 slugging percentage. York has won seven straight since their 2-1 extra innings loss to Muhlenberg on March 6.
