York College junior centerfielder Steve Tretter (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week after leading the Spartans to a pair of key CAC wins as the Spartans are battling for playoff position.
Tretter was named the Baseball Player of the Week after hitting .538 (7-for-13) with a double, homer, two walks, two runs scored and three RBI in four games. He helped YCP take two out of three against Mary Washington, solidifying its position in the CAC playoff hunt, with a game-tying two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning of game one Sunday afternoon.
For the season, Tretter leads the Spartans in batting average at .346 while he has 11 runs scored, six doubles, a triple, two home runs and eight RBI. He owns a .519 slugging percentage, a .415 on-base percentage and a .947 fielding percentage.
