YORK, PA – The York College baseball team
received outstanding news Monday as senior centerfielder
Ryan Poff (York, Pa./Spring Grove) received
Capital Athletic Conference Co-Player-of-the-Week honors for his
outstanding first week of March. Joining Poff in the accolade is
Stevenson first baseman Wade Keenan.
Poff, a former CAC Player- and
Rookie-of-the-Year who has catapulted the Spartans to a strong 10-2
record this season, compiled a 14-for-26 performance at the plate
last week for a stellar .586 average. Poff drove in 13 runs and
scored 10 times over that span as he registered an .885 slugging
percentage. Poff, who led York to a 6-0 week, secured a .586
on-base percentage as he mashed six doubles and one round-tripper.
The senior’s best performance came early in the week as he
blistered Eastern over the Spartans’ two-game stretch against
the Eagles. Poff went 7-for-10 at the dish with nine RBIs, four
runs scored, and four doubles in those two contests.
For the season, including today’s home win
over Messiah, Poff has compiled a shimmering .423 batting average
with eight doubles and two home runs, while he has 19 runs batted
in to his credit.
