MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The York College baseball team concluded their four-game trip to Myrtle Beach with wins over Eastern University 12-3 in 12 innings on Tuesday and 9-4 over Catholic University on Wednesday. The Spartans finished the trip 4-0 as they have now won six straight after starting the season 0-2.

The Eagles tied the game in dramatic fashion in the ninth inning. Spartan reliever Kyle Cook (Pylesville, Md./Harford) was cruising towards a save. However, he walked the lead off batter before surrendering a double to put runners at second and third with one out. Spartan third sacker Matt Monti (Easton, Pa./Easton) scooped up the ball and fired a strike to Cook who was covering the plate. Cook picked the short hop thrown and put the tag down, preserving the tie and sending the game to extra innings.
