Rob Andrews comes to York College from Commack High School in New York. Andrews will have the opportunity to earn innings as a freshman as he will likely be the Spartans’ primary back-up catcher. Andrews has good overall tools, both offensively and defensively. Behind the plate, Andrews is a good receiver with an understanding of the game. He throws well and should have a very successful four year career. At the plate, Andrews is an aggressive hitter with gap power and the ability to hit for a good average. At Commack High School, Andrews was a three-year varsity player, a two-year starter and a captain as a senior. In his senior year, Andrews helped lead Commack to a county chamionship game appearance. Andrews is a biology major and is the son of Rob and Cheryl Andrews.
