Jim Meehan comes into his junior year as one of the on-field leaders of the Spartans from his position behind the plate. Meehan gained valuable experience with extensive playing time last year as he played in 28 games, starting 19 of those contests. Meehan has a plus arm as he threw out 10
attempted base stealers last year. He has blossomed into a very smart catcher behind the dish who does a very good job with pitch selection. Meehan worked very hard this fall on his offensive game and has made progress that should make him a dangerous hitter in the lower third of the Spartan lineup. He has also worked hard in the weight room to make himself stronger both behind the dish and offensively. Meehan is the son of Jim and Marlene Meehan and is a business administration major.
