Jake Hughes begins his final year in the Spartan green and white looking to be a key part of the York pitching staff. Hughes will begin the season in the Spartan rotation and his success could be a key to the Spartan pitching fortunes. Hughes is a lanky, athletic left-hander that has a good fastball and a deceptive change. Control will be the key to Hughes’ season as he is very hard to beat when he is spotting his pitches. He went 3-3 last season in six starts while he made 13 appearances overall. Hughes is a business administration major and is the son of Mike and Deb Hughes.
