YORK, PA-The York Revolution will host a York College baseball game against Wesley College on Wednesday, April 2. The game will be held at the completed Sovereign Bank Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 pm.
The Revolution and Spartan baseball program began their relationship last year during the Revolution’s inaugural campaign. The Atlantic League ball club held their first northern practice at the College’s Jaquet Field last May and a partnership was born.
“We are honored to have one of our Capital Athletic Conference games at Sovereign Bank Stadium,” says Spartan head coach Paul Saikia. “The Revolution has become an important part of the York community--I think it’s great that we have such a supportive relationship.”
As a part of the Revolution’s community outreach, each fan will be charged $3.00 with all monies raised going towards the William Penn High School athletic fund.
Revolution General Manager Matt O’Brien is happy to have a chance to host the Spartans.
“We are thrilled to welcome the York College baseball program into our home this spring. Our relationship with the College has been unique and rewarding from day one, and this event is not only an opportunity for our partnership to grow, but to benefit the greater community as well.”
The game against Wesley will be the first of a three-game set against the Wolverines. After Wednesday’s game, the two teams will conclude the regular season series with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 5 in Dover, Del.
