Spartan head coach Paul Saikia was pleased to see his senior
standouts recognized.
“Chris and Jeff had the responsibility of captaining a
very young team this year,”
states Saikia. “Based on our success, I would say they
did a tremendous job. I'm glad now that they've been recognized for
their individual play as well. Obviously, as their numbers show,
they played at a very high level. I only wish there were columns to
show the intensity and intent they both brought to the field every
day of their careers.”
The Spartans finished the season with a record of 32-14 as
they finished third at the 2007 NCAA Division III Ferrum Regional.
Brower and Young combined to lead the Spartans to 112 victories in
the last four years.
