Young Inks Professional Contract
Former York College shortstop Jeff Young (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) signed a professional contract with the Kalamazoo Kings on Friday morning. Young, a four-year starter for the green and white, just wrapped up his Spartan career in May at the NCAA Tournament.

Brower Named CAC Co-Male Scholar Athlete of the Year
York College senior right-handed pitcher Chris Brower (Mont Clare, PA/Spring-Ford) was named the 2006-07 Capital Athletic?Conference Co-Male Scholar Athlete-of-the-Year as announced by the conference office recently. Brower shared the award with Mary Washington basketball player Justin Baker and it marks the third straight year a Spartan has earned the award as Brandon Bushey captured the honor in 2004-05 and 2005-06.

Brower and Young Named ABCA All-South Region
Senior captains Chris Brower and Jeff Young were selected to the 2007 ABCA All-South Region squads as announced by the ABCA. Brower and Young combined to lead the Spartans to a record of 32-14 in 2007.

The York College Spartans battled two foes during Wednesday's NCAA Tournament opening round game. The Ferrum Panthers and the rain. Both of their opponents earned a win as the Panthers defeated the Spartans 10-2 in Ferrum, VA. The rain cost the Spartans a dynamic first four innings from ace Chris Brower.

Spartans Split Season-Ending Twinbill at NC Wesleyan
The York College baseball team ended their 2007 campaign with a doubleheader split against North Carolina Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon in Rocky Mount, NC. The Spartans captured game one, 6-1, before the Bishops battled back to win game two, 6-2. The Bishops end the season with a mark of 28-16 while the green and white conclude the regular season with a record of 29-12.
