Nate Cooke is in his 11th year in association
with the York College Athletic Training staff. Cooke is in the
midst of his fifth year as the Head Athletic Trainer after serving
six years as the assistant athletic trainer under Sue
Klinedinst.
Cooke received his BA in Sports Medicine from
Messiah College in 1997 and earned an MS in Exercise Science from
McDaniel College in 2004.
In addition to his duties as the Head
Athletic Trainer, Cooke serves the department and the surrounding
communities as an American Red Cross CPR, AED, and First Aid
instructor. For the past three summers, Cooke has been medical
volunteer and Athletic Training liason to the Keystone State Games
in York. In the summer of 1997, he served as the assistant athletic
trainer for the Hershey Wildcats (A-League) semi-pro soccer
franchise.
Cooke is also in his third year as the
faculty advisor to the campus ministry organization, Intervarsity
Christian Fellowship. He is also a co-leader of an athlete bible
study on campus.
Cooke resides in Hellam with his wife, Terri,
and his son, Jaxon.
Allison Kunkel

Allison Kunkel is in her fourth year as the York College Assistant Athletic Trainer. She came to York College after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine. She is currently working on completing her MS in Education in Sport Management from Millersville University. She will graduate with her master’s degree in December of 2008.
Kunkel serves as the Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) advisor in addition to being the NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator for the Spartans.
Prior to coming to YCP, Kunkel served as an intern with the Pittsburgh Pirates in the summer of 2002.
She was recently appointed to the Pitt-Bradford Alumni
Association Board of Directors.
Kunkel lives in Marietta with her husband, Scott.
Jennifer Robertson

Jennifer Robertson is in the midst of her second year on the York College Athletic Training Staff. Robertson came to York via McDaniel College where she completed her Masters in Athletic Administration in the spring of 2006. Previous to McDaniel, Robertson earned her BS in Health Science from James Madison University in 2004.

She lives in Stewartstown, PA with her husband, Dan.
Autumn Yanchunis
Athletic Training Intern

Autumn Yanchunis is in her first year at York College as she serves as the Athletic Training intern. She comes to YCP from Wingate University in Charlotte, NC. Yanchunis was a varsity swimmer at Wingate where she graduated with a BS in Athletic Training. Previous to Wingate, she spent her freshman year of college at Florida State University where she was a member of the track and field team as a pole vaulter.
At Wingate, Yanchunis earned Academic All-America honorable mention and a multiple All-South Atlantic Conference honors in the pool.
Yanchunis lives in York.
Michael Sicuranza
York College Team Physician
Location of Practice: Orthopedic &
Spine Specialists, York, PA
Specialty: Dr. Sicuranza is an orthopedic
surgeon who specializes in both sports medicine and in the
hand. Specializing in arthroscopic techniques, the focuses of
his practice are in knee and shoulder surgery.
Education: Dr. Sicuranza attended the
University of Maryland Medical School. He completed residency
training in orthopaedics at Creighton-Nebraska Universities Health
Foundation. He then completed fellowship training in Sports
Medicine and Hand Surgery at the University of Virginia and at the
Kentucky Sports Medicine Clinic in Lexington, KY.

Brian Bixler
York College Team Physician
Location of Practice: Orthopedic &
Spine Specialists, York, PA
Specialty: Dr. Bixler is an orthopedic
surgeon who specializes in the care of the injured athlete and the
pediatric patient. The target population of his practice is
25 and younger. He has primarily served York College
student-athletes in the care of knee injuries.
Education: Dr. Bixler attended
Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine followed by
orthopaedic residency training at Hershey Medical Center. Dr.
Bixler completed fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopaedics at
the Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center in Atlanta. He
has also completed additional Sports Medicine training with Dr.
Sicuranza here in York.
