Wallpher Named the Spartan Athlete of the Week for January 30

Aja Wallpher has been named the Spartan Athlete of
the Week after leading the Green and White to a pair of Capital
Athletic Conference wins this past week.
Wallpher began her week with a sensational performance in the
triumph over Frostburg State. She handed out a career-high tying 13
assists while she also pulled in a career-high 12 rebounds in the
win over the Bobcats. She committed just one turnover in her 33
minutes of play while she also had five steals.
She continued her stellar play with nine assists, five rebounds,
four points, two blocked shots and a pair of steals in 30 minutes
in the romp over Hood.
For the week, Wallpher had a combined 22 assists and just one
turnover in 63 minutes of action. She averaged 8.5 rebounds and 3.5
steals per game in the Spartans’ two wins.
Wallpher currently leads all of Division III in assists at 7.3
per game. She is also contributing 4.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per
game to the Spartan attack. During the Spartans’ current six
game win streak, Wallpher has handed out 59 assists and committed
just 15 turnovers, good for a 3.9-to-1 assist to turnover ratio
during the streak.
