YORK, Pa. – Following his tremendous performance at the 2011 Coach Achtzehn Classic, York College men’s cross country runner Tim Hartung has been chosen as the latest Spartan Athlete of the Week.
Hartung finished second overall on the day posting a strong 26:46.95 to lead the Spartan squad. That effort, combined with Steven Childres and John Wallace coming in third and fourth, led the Green and White to the meet victory. The Spartans posted 31 points, distancing themselves from second-place Franklin & Marshall which tallied 44, and bested the field of eleven schools.
Hartung posted his best finish of the young season, while he while he also led York at last week's Lebanon Valley Invitational.
This Spartan Athlete of the Week honor follows Hartung’s Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week accolade last week.
