Hartung and DeLany Named Spartan Co-Athletes of the Week for November 3

YORK, PA – York College is proud to announce that senior Tim Hartung (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and junior Caroline DeLany (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) have been named the Spartan Co-Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 3, 2013

Hartung and DeLany each captured their respective individual championships at Saturday’s Capital Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships in Salisbury, Md.

Hartung captured his third straight individual title as he won the race in a time of 25:33.10, winning the title by over 19 seconds. Hartung’s victory helped lead the Green and White to their third straight Capital Athletic Conference championship. He was named the CAC Athlete of the Year for his efforts. Hartung is now a four-time CAC Athlete of the Year (twice in cross country, once in indoor track & field and once in outdoor track & field).

DeLany earned her championship by edging teammate Jess Miller (Dauphin, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) by three seconds. DeLany covered the course in a time of 22:27.30 to capture the individual title and the CAC Runner of the Year honors. DeLany led the Spartans to a strong second place finish, as they were just 10 points back of team champion Christopher Newport.

Hartung is a nursing major and is the son of Daniel and Barb Hartung. DeLany is a behavioral science major and is the daughter of George and Susan DeLany.
